Nurturing, Family Music Education
My children (ages 4 and 2) have been taking music lessons at Suzuki Music Institute for almost a year now, and our experience has been wonderful! My younger child loves the Early Childhood program. I looked a while for a class that would cultivate a child’s growing appreciation and love of music. Suzuki Early Childhood Education is music learning through rhythm, movement and musical instruments, and it's given my child a fun and secure environment in which to learn social skills too. The teachers are consistently great and have extensive early childhood education backgrounds. My elder child has started violin lessons for almost a year and has learned so much. Prior to transitioning on to the wooden violin, we have been learning on how to take a lesson, developing respect for the instrument, and cultivating a positive attitude on performing in public, aside to technical playing skills. My child has had some new challenges these past few months and it's good to witness the growth. The private lessons is cultivating emotional control, discipline and appreciation about music. I've especially noticed an increase in my child’s drive to learn music after participating in this program. Group lessons are great because kids learn more and faster when they're playing music with peers and having fun. My child has so much fun playing in the group classes and regular indoor or outdoor performances. Learning that music can be played anywhere and everywhere really boosts children’s self-esteem! I'm grateful to Evelyn, Kian, Saw, and all the great people at Hong Kong Suzuki Music Institute for being so nurturing and so dedicated to bringing music to our lives!
