Art is Fun

Art is narrowly defined here as a variety of paintings such as pastels, oil colours, water colours and ink drawings, doodles, three-dimensional sculptures and handcrafts.

With its aesthetically pleasing characteristics, art creation is indeed an entertaining activity for kids. The setting of art classes is usually relaxed and lively, and children will not feel as pressurized as they are in academic tuition classes. Art creation is somewhat based on an individual's unique ideas, imagination, preferences, and aesthetic perspectives, allowing children to take charge of and enjoy their moments with creativity and learning.

Instead of being overly concerned about the skills, parents should care more about how much fun can be derived from art learning. Young children are curious about everything and love to explore by touching and drawing things. So parents should follow their instincts and encourage them to doodle and create little handcrafts at home freely without pressure. They can also enrol in art workshops, where professional teachers will inspire and guide them to create art pieces more systematically while having fun with it. Most importantly, the satisfaction of completing an art piece enhances their interest in it, which is vital for further learning. In the process of creating artwork, children can mix and match different colours and materials and incorporate various lines, shapes, and textures, all of which provide a real sense of achievement as they participate in the whole process.

Colour can have a powerful effect on emotions. Immersing oneself in one's favourite colours during artistic activity can have a positive impact on emotions subconsciously. With the acquisition of certain skills, children are able to freely express their feelings and views of the world using a variety of artistic media. Creating works of art can therefore be a therapeutic activity that effectively and vividly portrays one's inner feelings. As well as being fun, active involvement in artistic activities improves children's thinking, aesthetic, and cognitive skills and enhances their emotional intelligence.

The pace of learning varies from person to person. In providing children with appropriate art education, try to organize it according to their preferences, respect their views and set realistic learning goals. The fun elements and artistic atmosphere of art creation will definetely benefit our children's well-being for the years to come.
