The Socrates program has given me insights to my future academic and careers preparation in different ways. It has inspired me to think about if I want to take part in business or politics. Through trying to think from different perspectives, for example from a businessman’s view on an issue, it gave me a taste of different career paths. By having some introduction to different careers, I was able to identify the career path that I am interested in. With this understanding, I am able to prepare myself for this through reading books and choosing different subjects etc. My skills on structuring my thoughts and categorizing my ideas into different perspectives and groups have greatly improved my essay and presentation marks as I was not able to express my ideas in an orderly fashion [before]. Furthermore, by participating in this program, I am introduced to a whole lot of questions that I am normally unaware of, such as effects of globalization and competition. By thinking more, I can and have honed my critical thinking skills to a higher level on different issues.
