Mother of primary school boy who was bullied
In 2 weeks of intensive play therapy and parent consultation, my boy, who experienced 2 years of physical and verbal abuse at school by groups of classmates, and refused school for 3 weeks, can stop crying and go back to school for the first day. My boy developed warm rapport with Dr Cheung in the first play therapy session to much of his surprise and my delight, because he distrust people in general since the dark age of abuse. A lot has happened in these two weeks since parent consultation, daddy and I took to heart and reflect deeply about what is important for my child under the guidance of Dr Cheung. We took her words seriously as we saw how our boy re-opened his heart. This whole process challenged immensely how we should parent our boy. Dr Cheung helped us how to talked to the school master on the crucial point of help we need to discuss with teachers, and the many challenges on our priority for our child. All in all, my boy can climb up from where he fell off. We did not need to change school, and he can start to go to school again. We are grateful indeed.
