This Cantonese-speaking playgroup is the perfect match for parents looking for affordable quality pre-school education combining local language and international environment
The Hangout is a Cantonese-speaking playgroup but it is also a quite international environment. My two 19 months daughters join Hangout twice a week and are always very excited about it. I find the team very good at having kids feeling confident, which truly helps them exploring and be in contacts with each others. The proposed activities perfectly fit the age group so big frustrations or boredoms are avoided. I have observed my daughters being very focused on handcraft or physical agility activities and being very proud of them. As my children are twins, my goal was also for them to socialize with other kids. It’s been quite a success. They have quickly learned to respect other children and adults through the guidance of their very professional teacher and her kind assistant. They learn to listen at instructions and to share toys with other kids. After two weeks, I have asked my children’s nanny to leave my kids at the Hangout on their own so they could get used to their teachers more easily. I had very positive feedback from the team who encourages guardians to leave their children being on their own for the time of the session. The team is open and receptive and turned out to very responsive with email communications with parents who cannot systematically join the playgroups themselves, like me. The hygiene there is good too and children are invited to wash their hands when they first enter the playroom as well as before and after snack time. We are lucky here on Lamma to have such a quality playgroup set up on our small island.
