Editor's Pick : What's On 2019 Halloween?

We say "Trick or Treat!" every year on Halloween. We dressed up every year and have themed party. We dressed up as ghost and vampires. But what exactly Halloween? Where does it came from? Who started it?

Halloween is celebrated every year on October 31. It’s believed to be originated more than two thousand years ago from ancient Celtics living around Ireland . Unlike today’s fancy celebrations, this day was originally a day to remember the dead ones and the passed away Saints. People would perform religious rituals and light bonfires in special costumes to ward off bad spirits. It’s sort of similar to our Chinese Ghost Festival during summer.
Halloween is a western traditional festival and is considered a rather BIG day for the western. There are lots of celebrations and parties and themed events in Western countries. So what about Hong Kong?
Frankly speaking, as being more influenced by the Chinese culture, we don’t have as much events as the Western BUT we still have some interesting options to offer every year!
Here are some of the recommendations that are not to be missed!!!

【Ocean Park Halloween Fest 2019】

(Photo : Ocean Park)

This year, Ocean Park Halloween Fest is back with a whole new Park-wide approach in which spooky elements goes beyond haunted houses to shroud six haunted zones around the Park in mystery. Every haunted zone is based upon a themed story which the creative team approached from various angles to construct a physical space of terror. Each story manifests itself through the set, lighting and acoustic effects, highlighted further by street actors, whereby guests will naturally become one of the roles in an interactive horror story.

Another highlight of this year’s Halloween Fest is “The later you stay, the bigger the scares”. The escalating scares will begin at 5pm. Ghosts will also give away lucky packets to bid farewell to guests from 11pm until 12am when the theme park closes.
