There are two main types of secondary schools under Hong Kong education system which are Local school and international. For local schools, it can be divided into four type of school: Local Aid (Fully subsidized by the government but operate by the voluntary institution), Local DSS (Private school receive financial support from the government), local government (operate by the government) and local private (run by private institution). The 3-3-4 Scheme is the academic structure for senior secondary education and higher education in Hong Kong with 3 years junior secondary, 3 years senior secondary and 4 years university.
